RICHMOND — After sitting through an agonizing, two-hour breakdown of the film of Tuesday’s loss to Shelby County, the Indians had all the motivation they needed to bust out of a surprising, late-season slump.

“It was very humbling,” Central senior Vince Clay said of watching the tape. “We watched every quarter. They stopped it. Rewound it. It showed everything.”

The Indians (16-10) took control early Thursday against Garrard County and rolled to an easy 82-68 win on Senior Night. Clay had 20 points, including five three-pointers, and JaQuentin Jenkins added 13 points and seven rebounds for Central, which had lost seven of its past nine games.

Third straight loss for Garrard, I’m sure that Coach DeForest will right the ship against Model tonight. Madison Central has to now turn their focus on Scott County, and begin to prepare for the grueling 11th region tournament. I look for both teams to have to have successful post seasons.
