Listerman a coach of the year finalist ...

Covington Catholic basketball coach Mike Listerman has been selected a finalist for the National High School Athletic Coaches Association's 2009 coach of the year. Listerman will be honored June 24 in Minneapolis at the NHSACA banquet.

Kentucky's others finalist are as follows: Mitchell Irvin, South Oldham athletic director; Art Sciubba, Greenwood boys' cross country coach; Mike Magre, Trinity track and field coach; Terry Buckles, Central Hardin girls' basketball coach; Terry Reed, Barren County girls' cross country coach and Wesley Martin, George Rogers Clark golf coach.

I just read Ryan Ernst blog.... Congratulations Coach !!!!

 

I tell people all the time, it isn't about the W's and L's that make a great coach, it's about what coaches like you teach our young men. Thanks for being there to teach our young men to grow up to be great husbands, fathers, Christians, and hard working members of their community. Wins are great to have but I would rather have successful young men who succeed in the real game of life who will make a difference in the world, such as you have done for years.

 

Congrats again and it is indeed well deserved. BTW enjoyed the game Tuesday night, and I plan on coming on Friday night.... Haven't missed a senior night in years and years
