Henry Clay Invitational

Featured Replies

One of the best fields in the state will be at Lakeside in Lexington this Saturday for the Henry Clay Invitational. Here are a few of the competing squads:

Henry Clay

Dunbar

LCA

Franklin Co.

Montgomery Co.

GRC

Greenup Co.

Tates Creek

Madison Central

Woodford Co.

South Laurel

Scott Co.

KY Country Day

Pikeville

Mason Co.

Oldham Co.

Any Thoughts?

Scott County burned up the course at Eagle Creek this past Saturday. Casey Mingua medalled - shot 3 under 66. Highest score on the team was 73. Team total was 275 (1 under). I saw Casey play - great kid!

Scott Co. is on a roll right now. They won their conference tournament (Bluegrass East Conference) with a 4 under par 136 last monday. And to think, people say they have no chance at winning their region. They might want to re-think on that one.

I like Zach Butler and Dunbar but I think that Scott County is a sleeper in Region 9. I look for them to qualify for state. Medalist in that region will interesting! But I digress from the topic of this thread.

Other teams to note in Region 9:

Henry Clay, Lexington Catholic, Lexington Christian, and Paul Dunbar.
