That's the score at the half. Believe it or not, Highlands has to feel very lucky to be up 17. The game has been much closer than the score indicates. If not for a Ryle defensive breakdown and a special teams breakdown, this is a 7-0 game at halftime.

Late in the second quarter Highlands quarterback Tony Guidugli hit a wide-open Nick Buten down the sideline for a 66-yard reception. The Bluebirds parlayed the big gain into a three-yard touchdown run by Clint Crawford. Then, with 26 seconds remaining in the half, Ryle punted to Austin Collinsworth, who returned it 43 yards to the Ryle seven-yard line. Adam Weinel then made a field goal to give Highlands a 17-0 advantage.

Highlands turned the ball over twice in the first half, but Ryle was unable to capitalize.
