Mason County bats finally come alive in the top of the 6th as the Royals break open a 5-1 game with 11 in the inning, punctuated by Richie Cox's 3-run blast. Soph LHP Keagan Burney goes the distance to get the win. Nice game at the plate for several Royals, including Cox (4-5, 3R, 5RBI - all 5 in the 6th inning), Keagen McGee (4-4, 3R, 4RBI), Woods (2-4, 2R, 2RBI). A special shout out to Royals catcher Clayton England (2-4, R, 3RBI), who gunned down a potential base stealer in the first inning to help preserve the Royal's early lead. Two rally-killing plays were both in the 3rd while the game was still close - a successful appeal on a miss of second base, and an inning-ending defensive gem by 1B Lee Sutton.

 

Royals face St. Patrick in the District final this evening.
