Dixie's pitcher Sexton handcuffed the Rebels on 2 hits and 7 K's for 6 and 2/3 innings and leads 5-1. Paskal was 2-3, Stansberry had a 2b, Dettmer was 2-4, Catchen was 2-3 with a bomb over the left field retaining net.

In the top of the 7th, Sexton strikes out Poweleit and McGaha, but McGaha reaches 1st when the pitch is mishandled by the catcher. Deno hits into a fielder's choice for the 2nd out. Fields hits a routine ball to the 1b, but takes a bad hop for a single and then the flood gates opened. McQueary walks, Wendeln singles in 2, Dixie pulls Sexton for Barnhorst, Carzoli walks, Alford walks to score a run, Laumann hits a 2 rbi gapper to the fence in left center. Poweleit follows with a 2 rbi gapper to left center. All told, Boone scores 7 in the top of the 7th, all with 2 outs.

Bottom of 7, here comes Dixie, Paskal walks, Wilson is hit by pitch, Stansberry doubles to score Paskal. Boone pulls Deno for Brodsky. Brodsky gets Dettmer to pop up to the shortstop, strikes out Catchen and Wiley hits a swinging bunt that Wendeln throws to Laumann to close it out.

Didn't get to see the game due to work but I arrived right after the conclusion and talked to Dixie coaches. Heart breaking loss from the sounds of it. Keep your heads up Dixie players, you had a great season and unfortunately it had to end early. Take some time to recover and then hit the cages/weightrooms to get ready for next season. Come back stronger, quicker, and better than you were this year. Good job guys!!!
