Lawrence County 1 Johnson Central 0

Good pitching in this one and Jordan Miller takes one to the 2nd row of cars in the 6th.

Who pitched for both teams? I figured Lawrence would have beaten them by more than 1.

Mike Conley pitched for the Eagles.Allowed only five hits with Shepherd giving up six hits. Conley had nine strikouts and Shepherd had 10. Both pitchers had an outstanding game. Conley may be one of the best "unheard of" pitchers in this region. He has pitched consistently for the Eagles since his seventh grade year including impressive wins in recent years against Boyd Co. Paintsville,Lawrence, and Pikeville. He also pitched the finals in the sectional last year to take them to the state. I look for Shepherd and Conley to only get better as Conley is a junior and Shepherd is a freshman. Good luck to both players. The eagles have to score runs if they hope to have a good year, I think that not having a field to play and practice on is proving to hurt them tremendously. I was also impressed with Hayes as always.

I checked the books-Shepherd actually had 13 KO's.

It was a good game. That Shephard kid is going to be something special. Someone in the bleachers stated he is only a freshman as well. Nice looking athlete.
