Charlie Lovan pitched seven strong innings but a couple of missed played balls always makes the difference in a close game. The Raiders hit the ball pretty solid, but mostly atom balls.

Tough opening round draw for Ryle. McNick has a very strong ballclub this year. Looks like McNick beat Dixie 3-2 in their later game.

No, it was a big right hander who threw pretty well. Good heavy fastball with a decent curve. He was able to mix well early and keep Ryle off balance. He wasn't able to sustain the curve ball much after the 4th and Ryle hit him, but right at people. Ryle also made some mistakes defensively that cost them... Lovan deserved a better fate.
