Not sure of the rule ,but ... It is school ball .They will have to be using them soon enough ,might as well start now . JMO

Your right, but a -3 bat is to heavy for a 7th grader to swing, I think.

They do need a big barrel bat, look at the -5 bats, can use for babe ruth aged leagues.

Some middle schools in Louisville would not allow a 2 ¾” barrel but would allow I believe a 2 5/8” barrel. DeMarini made a bat that fit in that category.

Very good point. My best advice, is consult with Varsity Coach and Middle School Coach, as to preference they have.

He has the Miken Red Burn 2 5/8 barrel, 31" 22oz. Thats why I was wondering about bat size, I was afraid he wouldn't be aloud to use it.
