Great job by the Colonels and Coaching staff....with a call here or there and a few less blocks from St. John the Colonels get the win. The future looks bright for Coach Baker. He was able to hold the team together after losing his best player in Mid January. I look forward to watching the Colonels progress over the course of the summer into next fall. Good job.

I thought the game was called fairly, and more even than I would have expected.

Whitley showed that they can play and really held South Laurel's feet to the fire. South responded the way championship caliber teams should and made clutch plays down the stretch. Whitley showed their lack of that type of experience but refused to give in and showed that they could be something special in seasons to come.

Kudos to both teams for a hard faught and well played game, good luck to the Cardinals as they move on to face Corbin.

As for the Colonels this was a bad time for the season to end as they were starting to come together again after losing a main cog in the engine. Coach Baker won't get any COY honors but the job he did with this team is certianly deserving of some consideration. Congratulations to the Colonels on a nice season and good luck in the future. Look on the bright side Colonels, it is only 7and one half months (and it will pass quickly) till practice starts, use that time wisely.
