Russell @ Rowan Co.

Featured Replies

Did I look at the schedule right does Russell play Rowan Co. tonight? If so I cant believe no one is talking about the number 1 vs. number 2 team in the region.

Yes. Where's the updates?

Not sure how this game came out, but I thought Rowan and Ashland were #1 and #2

I think today's ADI ranking had Rowan #1 and Russell #2. Not 100 percent sure though. Rowan was ahead by 24 around the end of the third quarter.

OK, thanks...I thought Ashland had beaten Russell head-to-head earlier in the season. I might be wrong.

Rowan won by 40 something! Very impressive win by the LADY VIKINGS! Very well officiated game.

Sounds like Rowan kicked it up a gear or two after letting Morgan nearly pull off an upset in Morehead earlier in the week. Looks like they responded to the wake up call!!

Hoops Gal:

Not saying that the officiating had anything to do with the end result in this game, however I looked up at the scoreboard last night in the first half to see that that Russell had 10 fouls to Rowan's seven or eight. With the amount of reaching, handchecking, and pushing Rowan does as they press, I had a hard time believing the Lady Devils fouled more in the first 14 minutes. Ferguson and Sparks were both called for ticky-tack fouls in the first, resulting in 8th graders bringing the ball up against a physical Rowan bunch. It would have been interesting to see if Ferguson and Sparks could have kept it any closer. 44 turnovers in a game is not the refs fault. Not calling hand-checks consistently is!!!

The over the back calls and the whacks going to the hole that were not called more than evened things out. It's amazing how people can call a team with no starter taller than 5'6" 140, basically bullies!! lol

And, according to the ADI Rowan had more fouls than Russell called against them. Your view of things may be colored w/ Russell maroon.

No doubt, I bleed maroon. I did refer to the foul situation in the first half! It doesn't matter how tall you are...if you are hacking, it's a foul.
