Senior WR D.L. Moore set new school records for receiving yards in a season and TD receptions in one season. His eighth TD reception went for 60 yards! The yardage record he broke was formerly held by former UK star Cisco Bryant in 1981 (692 yards). D.L. now has in excess of 700 yards. The old record for TD receptions (seven) was originally set by Kenny Wallace (no relation to the Head Coach to my knowledge) in 1960 and tied by current Assistant Coach Demont Franklin in 1997.

Also, senior QB Trent Steelman became the first QB in BGHS Football history to accumulate 4000 career yards passing. He threw three TD passes and ran for two more, showing that he's one of the top run/pass threats in the Commonwealth.

Senior TE Ryan Wallace also caught two TD passes in the game, giving him four for the season. He is only two short of BGHS's record of six in a season for tight ends. The record is currently held by All-Stater Felton Ray in 1978.

In the first qtr, Steelman drew first blood with a 20 yd pass to Wallace. Junior K Max Oldham split the uprights, and BGHS got the early 7-0 lead at 10:03. Grayson Co showed that they weren't intimidated when Brian Grant scored on a three yd run at 3:30. A Rick Hussel kick drew the Cougars even at 7 all. With 1:08 left in the first qtr, Steelman ran around right end and hit paydirt from 24 yards away. Oldham booted the PAT, and BGHS was up 14-7. Senior DG Robbie Johnson recovered a Cougar fumble and returned it 16 yards for his first career score. Oldham split the uprights again and, with two seconds left in the first qtr, the Purples led 21-7.

1:32 into the second qtr, senior RB Jared Carpenter dashed into the end zone form 23 yards out. Oldham kicked the PAT again, and the Purples took a 28-7 lead. With 5:34 left in the first half, Moore found his way into the school record book with the 60 yd TD reception from Steelman. Oldham was automatic again, and BGHS led 35-7. Steelman threw his third and final scoring pass of the night with 14 seconds left before the half, this time to Wallace again from 12 yards. Oldham was successful again, and the Purples went into the Fieldhouse with a 42-7 lead at halftime.

At 10:00 left in the third qtr, Steelman scored his second rushing TD game as he set sail on a 42 yd jaunt. Oldham nailed the PAT again, and the Purples led 49-7. Coach Wallace started filtering in the reserves at this point. Dustin Thomas scored on a five yd run with 5:15 left in the third qtr, but the placement failed, and the BGHS lead was trimmed to 49-13. Junior Tevin Barksdale, one of the few starters left in, scored on the longest scoring run of the night when he sailed in from 48 yards out. Sophomore K Zack Williams booted the PAT, and the Purples led 56-13 with 4:16 left in the third.

With 11:21 left in the game, freshman Tevin Anderson banged one over from one yard out. Williams was successful again, the running clock started, and that was it for the night, 63-13 Purples!:thumb::D
