Heat Index Awareness

Featured Replies

With the projected temperatures forecast for Friday and Saturday, to be sweltering at times, the chance for "Heat" related illnesses will be elevated.

Here is a link, to the KHSAA Heat Index Manual....http://www.khsaa.org/sportsmedicine/heat/kmaheatrecommendationscomplete.pdf

It contains information from the KHSAA, NFHS, NCAA and many resources. If for some reason, coaching staff, field personnel or others are unaware of how to diagnose or treat, please review and print out.

If a parent/guardian, has a player, cheerleader or family, that becomes affected by the heat, this will help at home, until they can get medical staff to evaluate them.

Hope no one needs this but wanted to link....Have a safe Football season.

Games should be played later and the heat index should be a factor in the time outs of he game. I hope that schools adhere to these recomendations.
