PRP motavated by embarrasing loss

 

Bill Miller called it one of the low spots in his 28 seasons as the head coach of the Pleasure Ridge Park High School baseball team.

 

Several players called it an embarrassment.

 

It was May 8, and the scoreboard at PRP's Bobby Green Field told the story: "Apollo 14, PRP 1."

"I think if we make it to the state finals that we'll be motivated no matter who we play," Miller said with a smile. "But we'd like to play Apollo again."

 

I hope they get to as well. I don't think Apollo has ever been to the state final game in baseball.

I was referring to the championship game. I'm not real famaliar with the programs history prior to the mid 90's but I know they had some good teams in the past. I believe they were ranked #1 around 1985 but failed to get out of district. People are still second guessing Coach Mantooth's decision to start Ben Stallings in the semifinal game in 1994. He might of been their #2 at the time, but he could hit 90 and spent some time in the Red Sox organization.
