Clark Co. wins 9-0 in Winchester over 10th region opponent Mason Co. It looked like the game would get rained out, but the weather held off.

Clark runs its' 2007 season record to 21-1.

Clark plays their next game at Estill Co. against former 40th district opponent Thursday at 5pm in Estill Co.

Clark Co. also honored several of the George Rogers Clark faculty tonight by introducing selected teachers and faculty members with the starting players before the game. They also joined the players on the field for the playing of the National Anthem. Long time high school trainer, Terry Decapio, threw out the first pitch and was also selected as the outstanding faculty member. It was a nice ceremony, and very classy by the Clark Co. coaches to take the opportunity to recognize the contributions of the faculty and staff at GRC, to the baseball team's success.

Cap, ( what we call him here at GRC), is such a huge part of the GRC sports program. He is retiring this year and will be greatly missed by all at GRC. He was also inducdted into the 10th region Hall of Fame during the 10th region basketball tourney.

The Cards just keep rolling.:ylsuper: Josh Wood started the game and recorded 7 strikeouts in three innings to get the win. Evan Bennett, Anthony Withrow, Logan Lykins, and Robert Bell all got an inning of work on the mound. Clark Co. used several pitchers and also was able to get several players into the game. The added experience for these players should pay dividends come tournament time.

Proud of you guys.:thumb:

Nice article and picture in the Winchester Sun:

Cards stay on roll, blank Mason

Clark pitcher Josh Wood struckout seven batters in his first start of the season on Wednesday night at Cardinal Field. Feeding off Wood’s impressive start, Clark’s five pitchers combined on a three-hitter. Bennett relieved Wood in the fourth and fanned two of three batters and picked off a runner at first. Anthony Withrow, Logan Lykins and Robert Bell followed Bennett and scattered just two hits over three innings. All five pitchers combined for 13 strikeouts and didn’t allow a runner past second.
