Classic pitchers duel as Josh Watkins of Paintsville and Justin Blanton of Johnson Central both go the distance. Both pitchers allowed 5 hits each with Watkins picking up the win while striking out 4 Eagles. Justin Blanton pitches an excellent game in the loss striking out 15 Tigers. Congratulations Paintsville.

BTW, Johnson Central pitchers have now struck out a total of 35 batters in the last two games (Fyffe 20 vs. Rowan Co. and Blanton 15 vs. Paintsville). Johnson Central hitters have only scored a total of 1 run of support in both games combined.

Wow, 2 games in a row, outstanding pitching by those 2 young men. Hard to believe this could happen 2 games in a row. Good job Justin, tough loss.

Sounds like the Eagles are just some run support away to doing some big things at the end of the season and heading into the post season. It is obvious they are sending a great set of arms to the hill each and every outing. Paintsville is still playing tough and will be hard to beat. I look for the winner of the 15th to come from the 57th, barring something major. Some nice looking clubs in the 57th district, as always.
