buttels Posted April 17, 2007 Posted April 17, 2007 The Wildcats had this one in the bag. but just like the first time, Grant County comes back in their last at bat to take a 9-7 win at Gallatin County on Monday night. The Wildcats had a 6-3 lead going into the top of the 7th inning, but Grant County erupted with 6 runs as they sent 10 batters to the plate. Most of those runs came on poor fielding and multiple errors in the infield. Jeremy Nunn went 5+ innings allowing 3 runs on 6 hits, then Josh Giles came in to relieve Jeremy. Josh retired the Braves in the 6th, but the 7th was the difference. The first 6 Braves scored and J. R. Davis came in to finish the 7th inning from the mound. J.R. got the bottom of the 7th underway with a nice double to left-center field and scored on a sacrifice by Josh Giles, but that was all of the runs the Wildcats would post. Ryan Shirley was named the Hometown Pizza Star of the Game as he went 3-4 and scored a run. Grant Co: 102 006 0 - 9 Gallatin Co: 023 001 1 - 7 WP: Adams LP: Giles The Wildcats fall to 3-6-1 with the loss. They travel to Owen County to take on the Rebels in a 31st district game this afternoon.
