First of all, why is the Umpire telling anyone, anything. His job is call the game and not manage it.

 

Second, if these Umpires made conducted themselves this way, the association should look into this manner.

 

Third, I'm not disputing your account of the situation but given your analysis, it's hard to imagine why this happened. Where was the Head Coach, during all this and what was his response.

I believe the ump held a grudge from last year. The head coach tried to defend his player, and there was nothing going on between the player and umpire until he told him to shut up. You are right, it is hard to imagine how this happened.
