Brossart 5 Silver Grove 3

Featured Replies

Brossart's Nathan Mutsch took the mound today and pitched four brilliant innings of baseball, striking out 9 and walking three, allowing no runs and no hits.

His Silver Grove counterpart Teddy Wiseman, was able to hold the Mustangs offense in check as the only run he allowed was a solo first inning dinger by Kyle Kramer, through the first four innings.

The Mustangs got to him for two runs in the bottom of the fifth inning, but Silver Grove put up five runs against reliever Tyler Verst in the top of the sixth, tying the district seeding contest at three with only one frame to be played.

A Brossart two run rally in the bottom of the sixth put the Mustangs back on top at 5-3 and when reliever Jimmy Uebel sat the Trains down in order in the top of the seventh, the Mustangs had won their first game of the season.

Silver Grove appeared to be solid and will be very competitive this season.

What???????? Am I reading this right? Hold on let me check again!:argue:

Was this game really a district seeding game this early in the season? That seems crazy. Perhaps this is the only time these two will play this year. It doesn't seem fair to either team to play such an important game this early.

Yes you are reading his correct. A very good game!!!!! Silver Grove played their hearts out! Brossart had their #1 and #2 on the mound and the Big Trains almost pulled off the upest. Muench is a stud on the hill. Kramer is stud at the plate! But Wiseman pitched a hell of a game for the big trains!! Then Pelle, Wiseman and Davidsons almost pulled it out it late in the game. Take nothing away from Bishop Brossart, they are one of the top teams in northern kentucky. But don't count out the TRAINS of Silver Grove!!!!
