2007 OhioKentucky All-Star Basketball Game

Press Release

The 16th annual OhioKentucky All-Star Basketball Game will be held on Saturday, April 7th at ThomasMoreCollege in Crestview HillsKentucky.

This years Ohio Boys All-Stars will feature OhioState recruit 6’7 Jon Diebler (Upper Sandusky). Deibler finished his high school career as Ohio’s all-time leading scorer and holds the OHSAA State Championship record of 48 points in one game. He will be joined by XavierUniversity recruit, 6’5 Dante Jackson (Greenfield McClain). Jackson is one of the more versatile players in the state with a smooth jump shot. The Ohio All-Star Team will showcase two of Cincinnati Moeller’s stars in 6’4 Troy Tabler, a Wright State recruit, and 6’5 Terry Martin to provide more firepower. Two big men, 6’9 Aaron Pogue (Dayton Dunbar) and 6’7 Alex Kellogg (St. Francis DeSales), son of former OhioStateUniversity standout Clark Kellogg, will help Ohio in the rebounding department.

This years Ohio All-Stars Head Coach is Keith Diebler of the highly successful basketball program of UpperSanduskyHigh School and one of Ohio’s better coaches. He will be assisted by two quality coaches in Larry Allen of HamiltonHigh School and Pete Liptrap of MiamiHigh School.

This years Kentucky Boys All-Stars features 6’5 Steffphon Pettigrew (Elizabethtown), who finished up the seasons as the leading scorer and rebounder in the state of Kentucky (scored 45 points against last years KY-IND team in a scrimmage) and 6’8 Jeff Brooks (Louisville Doss), a Penn State University recruit, who is one of Kentucky’s best big men and he is an amazing leaper and shot-blocker. Kentucky will need plenty of help to contain the Ohio All-Stars great guards. They have a great guard in 6’1 Austin Hill (Covington Holmes), a strong hard nosed all-purpose guard who just led his team to Kentucky’s “Sweet 16”. Also another great guard is 6’4 Ty Proffitt (South Laurel), a University of Notre Dame recruit, who to lead his team to this year’s Kentucky’s “Sweet 16” as well. Rebounding will be provided by 6’9 Thomas Coleman (Jeffersontown) who was on last years Kentucky State Championship Team and 6’7 Tanner Jacobs (Trinity) who is a beast on the boards. He will be assisted by a couple of the better coaches in Kentucky in Shawn Purlee of LouisvilleDossHigh School and David Henley of CovingtonHolmesHigh School.
