All Play No Work
NCC fought from behind for the most part until taking a 41-36 lead with five minutes to go in the 4th. NCC then rimmed out a three, blew two layups, and then had turnovers on 8 consecutive possessions. Holmes chipped away letting NCC self-destruct and rush even though they were trailing with time winding down. NCC finally got off a couple of shots but by then they were trailing. NCC would not score from the 5:32 mark until under 30 seconds were left. Holmes made foul shots when they had to and protected the ball well enough. Not a pretty game but give Holmes credit for not rushing or trying to do too much. Might not be much left in the tank for tomorrow but thats why they play them. bluethunder
Congratulations Holmes and Coach Hill. Coach Hill has done a great job this year and her team has improved all year and is playing it's best basketball of the year when it matters. It will take a great game tomorrow night but I have seen stranger things happen. Looking forward to watching and all 35 District final.
NCC06
NCC has lived and died all year with good shooting and it was just not there tonight. They have turned the ball over 25+ times in a number of games and you just can not do that and expect to win this late in the season. I give alot of credit to the Holmes coaching staff in the fact that they followed through with the strategy of slowing the game down and not letting Newcath run at all. bluethunder
How did Klie play? She was a joy to watch the last two years and it's a shame she couldn't get to state one more time. Good luck at Ball State.
NCC06
Klei struggled for the most part she ended the game with 12 pts. She just could not get her shot to go down. Holmes did a good job with tight coverage on her for most of the game.
