Bray was wide open, no hands in his face and no one near him. You made good points about the point guard situation, I have watched several of the teams you mentioned play and their guards are a big part of the point game. I do not think it is the choice of boone's guards to play the assist role. If you watch their games you will see the guards drive and heaven for bid it doesn't go in and they get yanked. When i played for Ryle the coach was on the same kick and yanked you every time you took a chance and missed a shot, it caused us to play a little conservative too. Boone has several good guards, one of which sticks with hester and duran and the rest of the top name guards pretty well. If the game is put in the kid's hands they will go far, if it is left up to the coach it will be close to the end of the game and they will blow it in the 4th qtr. Boone needs to lay off the full ct press, try it a few times and if it works roll with it, if not call it off.

 

On film, it showed Bray at half court when the shot went up.

After talking to a coach at Boone, the play was designed for Bray at the end. Bray had to come up to help on HC's press. Their was no play for Bray now because he was out of position and at half court when the shot was taken by McFarland. They had a double pick set for Bray in the half court that did not happen.

 

I wonder if the coach and players were surprised by the press coming on the last play, because it seemed to catch them a little off guard. I think that was definitely the right thing for Henry Clay to do to pick up full court and at least apply token pressure. I don't remember how many timeouts were left, but Boone might have considered calling one after half court if they had one, and set up a half court play. That might have been easier to set the necessary screens for Bray.

Boone's JV also looked very good against Henry Clay's tough JV team, winning 43-33. They were up by as much as 16 in the second half. I believe that Henry Clay and Scott County are the top 2 JV teams in their region, with HC suffering only 3 losses prior to this. Boone JV, although undersized, is now 16-4 on the year,

 

Scott County is 14-1 or 15-1 and id say bryan station has a better JV group then Henry Clay IMO which has the only SC loss(has played eachother three times)
