Most people don't know the name, but they know his famous saxophone sound on the Pink Panther theme.

A member of the famed LA session musicians known as "The Wrecking Crew", Plas played on hundreds if not thousands of tracks over his career.  In addition to the Pink Panther, his other famous contribution was the piccolo part on "Rockin' Robin"
