Storms are expected to develop to our west before moving into the state, with the best chance for stronger storms across western Kentucky first, then spreading east through the evening.

Some of these storms could become severe, with damaging wind gusts being the biggest concern. A few storms may also produce hail, heavy downpours, frequent lightning, and localized flooding in areas that receive repeated rounds of rain.

Unlike a solid line of storms, activity will likely be scattered, meaning some communities may see strong storms while others receive little or no rain. If a storm moves over your area, it could become intense in a short amount of time.

The threat won't end at sunset. Storms may continue into Thursday night, especially across southern and western Kentucky, before gradually weakening overnight.
