7th Region: Week 12

? Headlines

? ?| Ballard was ruthlessly efficient in its dissection of Jeffersontown, shooting 72% inside the arc and 65% behind it. Cole Edelen, Jaden Culver, and Qyntin Woods combined for 13 of the Bruins' 17 threes.

Throttling the Chargers helps cement Ballard's place atop the final regular season pecking order.

X | The star power of Josh Lindsay and Jeremiah Jackson proved more than Manual could handle. The high rising Lindsay went for a game high 30, while Jackson posted a monster double-double of 26 & 13.

♈ | The loss to X was not the start Manual was looking for to begin an affirmative week for the Crimsons, but they bounced back to finish strong with wins over Seneca and Male. They shot 58% from the field with eleven threes against the Redhawks. Ahmad Shelton did Ahmad Shelton things to Male with 17 points and 15 boards.

☘️ | T continued to build momentum toward the post-season with a 3-0 week, with wins over a very underrated DeSales squad, MoCo, and Ohio power Moeller. Jayden Johnson averaged 23 & 7 for the week, backed up by Garrison Gilvin's 15 & 10. The Shamrocks, with Johnson in the fold, are a born again contender.

H | The loss to Manual was part of an 0-3 week for Male, who also lost to PRP and Cathedral (IN) to extend the Dawgs’ skid to 2-8 over their last ten. A healthy Jordan Mitchell and Trey Hillerich powered Male to the King of the Bluegrass title and the top ranking in the state before Hillerich was lost for the season. Mitchell is just now getting back in the mix, returning to the court for the first time in a month to score 19 in defeat to Manual.

? | The Kentucky Association of Basketball Coaches bestowed 7th Region Player of the Year honors upon Jeremiah Jackson (17 ppg/7 rpg) of St. Xavier. He's had the most complete season of all contenders, utilizing an all-court game on both ends, consistency, and availability to beat out the rest of the field.
