Ashland hasn’t had much luck with 15th Region teams this year so I didn’t expect this. Tough to get off the bus and win in Inez. Congrats!

Looks like they had it going tonight.

Did not expect this. Ashland may have had their best defensive performance of the year and it was definitely their best rebounding performance against the team ranked #2 in rebounds per game in the state. Ashland opened this one up converting two three pointers and a layup off of three Martin County turnovers on their first three possessions. Ashland would jump out to a 17-0 lead and while Martin County would cut it to 28-17 at the end of one, Ashland would push the lead to 48-25 in the second, leading 50-30 at halftime. They continued to keep their foot on the pedal from the start of the second half. 

It was just one of those tough nights for Martin County. This one game does not define them. Coach James has done an excellent job there. This is a coaching staff that has been together for years and in 2023 earned a trip to Rupp Arena after dropping eight games in a row to end the regular season. This program is used to winning at a high level and I am sure they will continue to improve.

Ashland is really starting to come together as a team.
