Good morning, welcome back to some degree of normalcy, and I hope everyone had a safe and enjoyable New Year's Day / Weekend!  We had a great week of hoops last week, highlighted by two huge wins, Campbell County over Brossart, and Cooper, on the road, over the Valkyries of Sacred Heart.  I certainly recognize there is an argument to be made to leap Cooper over NDA into the 2nd spot, but the H2H still very much matters, and Notre Dame hasn't done anything to show they wouldn't beat the Jags again -- although I "think" I'd lean Jags in a rematch at NKU (foreshadowing).

This week is our 8th, 9th, and 10th region All A tournaments, so I've only listed the official games to be played this week but understand that those events are all win-and-advance, so we'll have more games played than currently scheduled.  Would LOVE to see the 8th, 9th, and 10th All A Champions to come from our traditional NKY programs!!

We also have one of our games of the Year on the docket this week, with #1 Simon Kenton playing at #2 Notre Dame on Tuesday, January 6th, at 7:30.  That should be a terrific game, with the last 3 matchups being separated by only 13 points.  Should be a great crowd on the Hill for this 1 vs 2 matchup!  Also of note, a sneaky good game between Highlands and Bishop Brossart, and it will be interesting to see how the Lady 'Stangs respond to their first loss of the season.  Here we go....

#1 Simon Kenton (13-1 / 2-1 last week):  at #2 Notre Dame, at Conner, and vs Anderson County

#2 Notre Dame (9-2 / 2-0):  vs #1 Simon Kenton and vs Scott.

#3 Cooper (10-3 / 2-0):  vs Conner

#4 Campbell County (6-2 / 1-0):  at Grant County, vs Bracken County and vs North Laurel

#5 Holy Cross (9-2 / 1-0):  vs Beechwood at Villa Madonna in 9th Region All A

#6 Bishop Brossart (13-1 / 2-1):  vs #8 Highlands and vs Augusta at Bracken County in 10th Region All A

#7 Ryle (7-5 / 2-0):  at Dixie, at Mount Notre Dame (OH), and vs Boone County

#8 Highlands (7-2 / 3-0):  at #6 Bishop Brossart, vs Woodford County, and vs Badin (OH)

#9 Walton-Verona (8-3 / 1-1):  vs Williamstown at Trimble County in 8th Region All A

#10 St. Henry (8-3 / 0-1):  vs Dayton at Villa Madonna in 9th Region All A

====================================================

*  NewCath (6-4 / 2-0):  vs Ludlow at Villa Madonna in 9th Region All A

*  Scott (5-8 / 1-1):  at Notre Dame and vs Henry Clay at Frederick Douglass

*  Dixie (3-7 / 1-1):  vs Ryle and at Assumption (whew....that isn't good!)

*  Grant County (6-7 / 1-3):  vs Campbell County, at Lloyd, and at North Oldham

*  Conner (1-8 / 1-0):  vs Simon Kenton, at Cooper, and at South Oldham

*  Lloyd (6-7 / 2-2):  vs Grant County

Highlands at Brossart tonight is a great game, interested to see how it turns out.

Ryle visits Mount Notre Dame in Cincinnati tonight, easily the game of the evening for NKY Girls' hoops.

MND is 11-0 with some very impressive wins, if Ryle can keep it competitive it will be a very solid result for them.
