A strong weather system will move into the Ohio and Tennessee Valleys on Thursday. A cold front will push through during the day.

Moisture and warmth will be limited because of clouds and rain, so storms won’t be very tall or intense. However, strong winds just above the ground and good lift along the front will help form a narrow line of showers and storms.

Even with low instability, some of these storms could still produce brief strong to damaging wind gusts as the front passes.

In short:

Expect a fast-moving line of showers/storms

The main concern is gusty or locally damaging winds

Severe threat is low, but not zero
