Storms may develop during the afternoon within a favorably sheared environment, with a strongly forced line becoming possible later this evening/overnight as the surface low deepens and moves northeastward. The magnitude of the severe threat may be limited by scant instability, but strong lift and strong deep-layer shear will support some potential for damaging gusts and perhaps a brief tornado or two.

Along the front, a line of thunderstorms and showers is anticipated. Today's forecast calls for 80s temperatures and blustery southwest winds, with gusts of 20 to 30 mph possible. There is a chance of a few strong to severe storms, mostly west and along I-65. Strong straight-line winds pose the biggest threat, though an isolated spin-up tornado is not completely ruled out. East central Kentucky will continue to see gusty showers on Sunday morning before they clear out.
