It seems likely that next week will provide much-needed precipitation to sections of the Ohio Valley and Kentucky. We'll have our best chance of rain, but it won't rain every day. There is a probability that some people will witness strong to severe storms toward the end of the week. The precipitation could begin late on Sunday. 

From Alaska, a fragment of energy will separate from a system and travel to Kentucky. Off the coast of California, a second system—the remains of a tropical system—will advance eastward in the direction of the Ohio Valley. This is the one that can provide us the opportunity for strong storms on Thursday.
