9th Region Week 5 Rankings and Preview

Featured Replies

Most teams are now down to single digits of games remaining in the 2025 season.  Dixie Heights is the team making a statement in the 9th Region this year with a couple other teams hoping to make a run in early October.

  1. Dixie Heights (6-0-0) - The Colonels are playing good soccer and continue to dominate 9th Region opponents.
  2. Covington Catholic (3-0-1) - The Colonels get two wins last week.
  3. St. Henry (3-1-0) - The Crusaders take a loss against Dixie Heights.
  4. Conner (3-3-0) - I think my Cougars will make a push the next 3 weeks.
  5. Ryle (1-1-1) - The Raiders are looking ahead to Districts to regain their crown from Conner.
  6. Highlands (2-3-0) - I've said it all year, they are young but are gaining experience.
  7. Beechwood (2-3-0) - Still trying to figure out the Tigers.
  8. Cooper (1-3-0) - The Jaguars have talent; just seems they are not putting it all together yet.
  9. Newport Central Catholic (2-4-0) - Another young 36th District team.
  10. Villa Madonna (1-2-0) - Giving the Vikings the final spot in the Top 10 with their big win verses Holy Cross.
  11. Holy Cross (1-2-0) - I mean the beat NCC but have struggled since then.
  12. Boone County (0-3-0) - The Rebels are still looking for a win against the other 9th Region teams.
  13. Holmes (0-1-0) - Go Bulldogs!

Games to watch

Tuesday

  • Beechwood @ Boone County
  • Covington Catholic @ Dixie Heights - The battle of the Colonels.  Dixie last beat Cov Cath in 2022 during the regular season.
  • Ryle @ Newport Central Catholic - Let's see if the grass of Morscher Field slows the Raiders down enough for the Thoroughbreds.
  • St. Henry @ Villa Madonna - The Crusaders win this one.

Thursday

  • Boone County @ Conner - First 33rd District match up...GO COUGARS!
  • Highlands @ Covington Catholic - I'm going with the Colonels in this one.
  • Holy Cross @ Beechwood - 35th District seeding game.
  • Newport Central Catholic @ Dixie Heights - Colonels win this one.
  • Ryle @ Cooper - 33rd District seeding game, do the Jaguars wake up for this one?

Saturday

  • Villa Madonna @ Holmes - Early morning battle in Covington.

Games outside the 9th Region

  • Bishop Brossart @ Conner - (Tuesday) Revenge game for Conner, these two teams don't like each other.
  • St. Henry @ Simon Kenton - (Thursday)
  • Campbell County @ Ryle - (Saturday)
  • Great Crossing @ Newport Central Catholic - (Saturday)
  • St. Henry @ Bishop Brossart - (Saturday)
