The inaugural 2025 KHSAA Girls Lacrosse Season has paired down to the final 4 teams.

Semi-Final Games will be played today at Shelby County High School.

Game 1 at 5:00 pm

#1 KCD (17-5) - The Tournament Favorite.  They have played a tough out of state schedule and their 5 losses are to out of state teams.

vs

#14 Dupont Manual (10-10) - The Cinderella of the field.   The Crimsons battled a decent schedule this season and lost to some really good teams.  They won the 1 goal differential rubber match at Mercy on Saturday 9-8 to reach the Semi-Final Round.

Game Comments:  On paper this is a mismatch to be honest.  I love the Crimsons, but to be competitive in this game would be my goal.  Just being honest.

Prediction:  KCD 15 - Manual 5

Game 2 at 8:00 pm

#4 Notre Dame (15-1) - Coach Jimmy Marshall is a really good Coach and has his Panda's on the cusp of the Championship game.  Their only loss on the year was at a very good St. Ursula Academy squad.

vs

#5 Sayre (14-4) - Coach Anna Cook has her Lady Spartans peaking at the right time.  They only have 4 losses and 3 of those 4 they lost to are still playing!

Game Comments:  This will be a rematch of the April 1st match held at Notre Dame that the Panda's won in a very competitive game 14-11.  I look for another very tight game here.

Prediction:  Notre Dame 15 - Sayre 14

KCD manhandled Manual yesterday 21-6.  The mismatch on paper played out.

But still a very good season by Manual, who made it farther than any other public school.

KCD is a machine.  Very well coached with playmakers at every position.

Didn't stay for the nightcap, but Sayre got revenge for an earlier loss to a very good Notre Dame team and defeated the Pandas in a tight game 10-8.  I heard both teams lost good players to injury during the game.  Hope they recover quickly.

So the 2025 Girls Lacrosse State Championship Game will be KCD vs Sayre at 5:00 pm tomorrow at Collins.

KCD is the overwhelming favorite and will be very difficult to beat.  The two played way back on March 25th at Sayre with the Bearcats of KCD winning 18-3.  Good luck to both teams!
