Marginal Risk for Strong to Severe Storms Later Today (4/30/25)

During the day, a small low-pressure system may pass over portions of the MS/OH Valleys adjacent to the warm front that is moving north. In the afternoon, scattered storms could form close to the front in a damp, unstable air mass. Around the frontal zone, there is a chance of at least temporary storm formation, which carries the risk of hail, wind that might cause damage locally, and even a tornado. 

Although there is still uncertainty about whether early convection or cloudiness will interfere with destabilization in this region, if trends favor strong storm development in the afternoon or evening, a higher severe probability might eventually be required.

I won't be on much today because I'm driving a busload of school kids to a Lexington Legends game.
