Elliott got its first look at the upper echelon of the 16th, both in team and individual stature.

 

Not sure how the game went as a whole, but a major improvement for Elliott County from two seasons ago when the score was 96-43. They are 13-6 right now and three more wins will double their win total from the last two seasons combined. Greg Adkins has done one of his best coaching jobs with this team, and he has done some great ones. This year they still looked to be a year away from shining again.

The hottest team in the 16th right now is Boyd County. They have ripped off nine in a row, including against rival Ashland and 15th region power Pikeville. Seven of these nine wins, including the Ashland win, have been away from home. Jacob Spurlock is playing like his usual impressive self and Childers and Rardon look so much more comfortable in the flow of the offense. Both are dangerous players. In six of these wins it's worth nothing that at least four players had double digits for Boyd County. They are coming along at the right time.
