NKY Girls Basketball Top 10 (Week of 2/3/25)

What a terrific week in NKY Girls Basketball!  Thursday night we had the top 4 teams in the area (or thereabouts) playing each other, and each game went into Overtime.  We also saw a great game between Notre Dame and Cooper that came right down to the wire!  Campbell County had an overall good week, with the exception of driving two hours to rural Indiana to lose to Simon Kenton by 30, before bouncing back to knock off Highlands the next day.

Cooper, Dixie, and Bishop Brossart had perfect weeks, while Highlands, Scott, Grant County and Ryle were unable to find a win this week.  

This week has some very good games, but none better nor more intense than Wednesday's 35th District showdown when Notre Dame travels to Holy Cross.  I'm sure that the crowd will be huge for that one, and while the home team has won 3 of the last 4 match-ups (sweeping the Pandas last year), it feels like NDA may be playing a little better basketball right now.  It is going to be very close, intense, fun, and I hope the young ladies get a huge crowd for the game.  HC will have to come right back the next night, on the same floor, and tangle with Campbell County, will be interesting if Coach Arlinghaus can get his team to be ready, physically and emotionally, for another quality opponent the night after facing their district rivals.  We'll learn a great deal this week!

8.  Bishop Brossart 17-5 (3-0):  vs Boone County, vs McNick (OH), and vs Augusta

9.  Walton-Verona 13-8 (1-2):  vs Gallatin County, vs Ryle, and vs Henry County
