14th Region: Week 6

Overall, their wasn't many games played last week in the mountains, especially the 14th region, due to the weather. Most of the games that were played were the 2A sectionals and the 14th Region All "A" Classic. Some teams didn't even get to play at all last week, giving those teams a rest but also hurting they're schedule as were we are so far into the season, it's hard to get games rescheduled. 

None of the games that actually got played, were not even remotely close, all blowouts, in fact, the closest game was a 18 point win for Owsley County over Lee County 73-55, the rest was bigger margins.

With that said, let's take a look back at what games actually got played and see what has changed within the rankings this week!

 

Hazard remains #1 this week, with a thrashing 30 point win over #8 Jenkins, 74-44. The Bulldogs now await the winner of Knott County Central and Leslie County. That game will be held at Lee County, as well as the championship game.

Breathitt County nabbed another district win over Wolfe County this past week, defeating the Wolves 79-59, but unless I'm mistaken, this game doesn't count towards district win/loss record as it was in the 14th Region All "A" Classic.

Estill County had several games canceled but managed to find they're way to Rowan County, to take on Boyd County Lions in the KY 2A Sectional 6 Championships. This is a game, Coach Brian Hall and the Engineers hope to forget as they were derailed and derailed bad by the Lions, 91-55.

Owsley County picked up a revenge game against Lee County, cruising past the Bobcats 73-55, but sadly this game doesn't go towards district seeding's as it was in  the first round of the 14th Region All "A" Classicand these two will meet again in Booneville (same place as this game) on Thursday, January 30th. 

Knott County Central didn't have any issues cruising past Cordia with a thrashing 67-32 victory over the Lions, but this game doesn't count towards district seeding as it was part of the 14th Region All "A" Classic.
