DragonFire Posted January 5 Posted January 5 Caught the majority of this one online. Bowling Green had control for most of the night. They trailed early at 3-2, and then not again until the final quarter, and then very rarely. They led 56-45 going into the fourth quarter and then uncharacteristically could not hold that lead, giving up a 12-0 run to start the final frame. Bowling Green had the ball in a tie game with the ball, but Joseph Hurt's jumper from the foul line was no good, and the rebound came to Woodford's Makhi Smith who raced up the court, jumping from beyond the three point line and releasing it in midair just before the buzzer to BANK in the winning three pointer. Video: The loss snapped a 12 game home win streak for the Purples, who did not lose at home in the 2024 calendar year. The Purples are 99-12 at home since the opening of the 2015/16 season - this is a very rare loss for them at home. Still, a strong showing for BG, especially on the heels of a tough road district game against Greenwood yesterday. Games like this are great prep for the showdown they have in two weeks with Warren Central. 1
QueenoftheSouth Posted January 5 Posted January 5 Big win for Woodford. They have the potential to beat anyone in the state, and that’s without Jointer. When he gets back, I think they’re as good as anyone, period.
