??Jason’s Jewels??

Week 7 of the NFL is upon us and while we are getting a better read on some things this season is still pretty drunk.

Last week was tame compared to the rest of the season and yet there still remains a ton of questions about some of these teams.

Aaron Rodgers told us that he didn’t have any power to get Robert Saleh fired.

He definitely had enough power to get Davante Adams on the team.

No more excuses for the Jets now.  As they sit at 2-4 on the season they have to turn things around immediately if they plan to make the playoffs.

As a four time winner of the MVP trophy and only one Super Bowl ring to show for it I am one who does not believe in Rodger’s ability to elevate the Jets.

If he has shown a proclivity to come up short in the playoffs when he was a perennial MVP candidate then why should I believe in him now when his age is clearly showing.

Aaron Rodgers is the main reason the Jets are a FAKE TEAM to me.

He’s never gotten it done more than once in the past.  He probably won’t get it done this year either.

I guess we’ll see.

The NFC North is looking to be the best division in the NFL this season.

We have the undefeated Minnesota Vikings and their vaunted defense leading the way.

The Detroit Lions are 4-1 and look as good as anyone in the NFL right now.

The Green Bay Packers are 4-2 as Jordan Love continues to lead the way for the Packers.

The Chicago Bears are 4-2 as well and with their strong defense they are making things easier for Caleb Williams as he continues to grow in his rookie season.

The Bears benefit from a fairly easy schedule outside of their divisional foes but I do think the chinks in their armor will show as the season progresses and they face those divisional foes.

Either way it has been a good start for the Bears as they at least have something to build on.

As for the rest of the NFL, well, let’s just jump right into it.

REAL TEAMS

Buffalo Bills-the Bills slander has been loud following two road losses to Baltimore and Houston for some reason.  They just received Amari Cooper in a trade and Josh Allen is still one of the best QBs in the league.  Sleep on them if you wish.

Baltimore Ravens-after dropping their first two games against the Chiefs and Raiders the Ravens have defeated Buffalo, Dallas, Cincinnati and Washington and are sitting at 4-2 tied for first in the AFC North.  Their schedule is considerably easier for the rest of the season.  If Lamar can stay healthy the sky should be the limit for this team.

Houston Texans-the 5-1 Texans have been hit by the injury bug and they still keep on winning.  Led by CJ Stroud the Texans have the benefit of being in the AFC South.  They should continue to cruise to the playoffs.

Kansas City Chiefs-the Chiefs had a BYE week this past week and will face the San Francisco 49ers this week.  This Super Bowl rematch won’t pack the same punch because of injuries to key players.  Unfortunate for us but it still has the potential to be a good game since Mahomes and Purdy will both be playing.

Washington Commanders-the Commanders lost by 7 to the Ravens this past week but they still sit atop the NFC East.  At 4-2 Jayden Daniels has basically locked up Offensive Rookie of the Year if he stays healthy.  Their defense needs some work but they have proven to be a formidable team so far.

Minnesota Vikings-undefeated defensive juggernaut.  Huge game against the Lions this week as we’ll see a top notch offense in Detroit against a top notch defense in Minnesota.  How this game plays out is beyond me but I will have a close eye on it.

Detroit Lions-absolutely embarrassed the Dallas Cowboys in Dallas on Jerry Jones’ birthday.   The Detroit Lions are now America’s Team.

Green Bay Packers-I keep saying the same thing about these guys.  There’s just something about this team.

Atlanta Falcons-one of the hotter teams in the NFL right now.  Currently on a 3 game winning streak as they defeated their divisional foes in 3 consecutive weeks.  Saints, Buccaneers and Panthers have all lost to the Falcons in the last 3 weeks as the Falcons have a leg up for the division lead.

Tampa Bay Buccaneers-Baker Mayfield continues to silence his critics. Despite a loss to the Falcons the Buccaneers continue to thrive under the resurgence of Baker Mayfield.  Chris Godwin has been playing out of his mind.

San Francisco 49ers-I am very hesitant to add these guys to the REAL TEAM list.  Injuries are piling up but something feels better about this team moving forward.  They are in an easy division so if they can take care of business in their division they should have an opportunity in the playoffs to get healthy and be a problem.  They are still listed as the favorite to win the NFC.  ??‍♂️

FAKE TEAMS

New York Jets-as I said earlier I do not believe in Aaron.

Miami Dolphins-their fate depends on Tua and his ability to play and stay healthy.

Pittsburgh Steelers-these guys are 4-2 and on the verge of switching QBs.  I’m not sure what is going on here.  Either way, I don’t have faith in them.

Cincinnati Bengals-arguably the most talented 2-4 team in the NFL.

Indianapolis Colts-3-3 off the back of Joe Flacco.

Los Angeles Chargers-very strong defense but they need some signature wins if they want to become a REAL TEAM.  They don’t strike fear into anyone.

Denver Broncos-same as the Chargers.

Philadelphia Eagles-they do have AJ Brown and Devonte Smith back so I expect them to become a REAL TEAM soon.   They still need to play better than they have been. 20-16 over the Browns ain’t it.

Chicago Bears-again, they have benefitted from an easy schedule.  We’ll see what they are made of soon enough.

New Orleans Saints-embarrassed the Cowboys and since then they have only embarrassed themselves.

Seattle Seahawks-they have the ability to become a REAL TEAM but they need to put the 49ers away and assert some dominance in a division that is there for the taking.

REAL FAKE TEAMS

New England Patriots

Cleveland Browns

Tennessee Titans

Jacksonville Jaguars

Las Vegas Raiders

Dallas Cowboys

New York Giants

Carolina Panthers

Arizona Cardinals

Los Angeles Rams

My Lock of the Week came through for me last week as the Atlanta Falcons took care of business against the Carolina Panthers and covered the -6.5 point spread I was able to lock them in at.

The Falcons won 38-20 and used some late touchdowns to pull away as it was still 25-20 Falcons late in the third quarter.

This moves my season record to 3-3-0 on the season and 18-7-1 overall dating back to last season.

After getting off to a 1-3 start on the season I have been able to win my last two locks and

look to keep it rolling.

I won’t lie, this week is hard as hell so I am going to go back to the well and take a high spread against the Carolina Panthers.

Yep, that’s right, give me the Washington Redskins at an insane -7.5 over the Carolina Panthers.

Much like last week this Carolina Panthers defense is putrid and this Washington offense is playing some outstanding football right now.

This game will be in Washington as the Commanders look to bounce back after last week’s loss to the Ravens.

Commanders at -7.5 over the Panthers.  Lock it up!!!

My Underdog of the Week record now sits at 3-4 against the spread and 2-5 when taking the money line.

I had the Broncos at +3 and +134 on the money line and they let me down last week.

Underdogs are hard but we’re going to keep plugging away.

As for my underdog this week there are some intriguing choices.

Tampa Bay at +3.5 against the Ravens has my eye.

Houston at +2.5 against Green Bay has my eye.

Kansas City at +1.5 against San Francisco has my eye as well.

I think I am going to rally around Detroit this week.  They are a +2.5 underdog on the road at Minnesota and +110 on the money line.

Their defenses are very similar and at the end of the day Detroit has shown they can win big games on the road.  I also like the Detroit offense more than the Vikings offense.

Yeah, let’s do this. Detroit Lions for my Underdog of the Week at +2.5 and I will sprinkle that money line at +110 as well.

In other gambling news, Lamar Jackson is currently sitting at +550 to win MVP the season.

I’m not saying throw something on it.  I am saying that this will likely be the best number you’ll be able to get him at for MVP this season.

That’s all I got for this week of ??Jason’s Jewels??

Thank you for reading and good luck with your bets this weekend!

Y’all be easy!!!! ✌?
