??Jason’s Jewels??

“Nobody is Safe”

That is a direct quote from my boy, Ron Lockridge, this past weekend as our Saturday of college football came to a close.

UK suffered a disappointing loss to Vanderbilt in a game that UK had to have to keep their hopes of a bowl game alive.

You could hear the pain and disappointment in the stadium all through Lexington Saturday evening as Vanderbilt defeated UK, 20-13.

UK didn’t play their best football and Vanderbilt did an excellent job of continuing to build off of their win against Alabama the week before.

At this point it feels like folks are ready to move on from Mark Stoops as the head coach.

I don’t know who you can get to replace him.

I will say that it does seem that Coach Stoops has reached his ceiling here at UK so maybe a change of scenery is best for both parties.

It cannot be denied that Coach Stoops has been beneficial to the UK football program.

Whether he stays or goes remains to be seen and after a brief flirtation with Texas A&M last season I wouldn’t be surprised at all to see Stoops leave for real after this season is over.

Stay tuned.

UK leaves this game with a 3-3 record and is headed to Florida for a road game with the Gators at 7:45pm this Saturday.

Louisville was able to come from behind and secure a victory against Virginia last weekend with the final score of 24-20.

A late touchdown with 1:55 left in the game from Tyler Shough to Jamari Johnson is what created the final score as this was one of the games Louisville had to have if they want to be bowl eligible this year.

This win showcased Louisville’s grit and determination as we all know conference games on the road are never easy.

Isaac Brown rushed for 146 yards and 2 touchdowns.  Ja’Corey Brooks didn’t score this game but he still had 5 receptions for 83 yards to lead the Cardinals receivers.

Up next for Louisville is the undefeated Miami Hurricanes at 12:00pm this Saturday as Heisman Trophy candidate, Cam Ward heads to Louisville, Kentucky to take on the Cardinals.

Miami has shown some vulnerability their last couple of games as they pulled out come from behind victories over Virginia Tech and California.

This could be a huge statement game for Louisville if they can defeat Miami.

Miami is currently a -4 point favorite.

As for the rest of the college football world, well, we watched Ohio State lose to Oregon at Oregon in a thriller.

As a result Oregon is now ranked #2 and Ohio State dropped to #4.

Alabama was fortunate to get by a pesky South Carolina team that arguably gave the game away to Alabama with turnovers and lack of execution.

Clemson is now 5-1 and continues to rebound nicely after dropping their first game to Georgia.  They remain #10 in the rankings.

5-1 LSU has jumped up 5 spots to #8 after defeating Ole Miss, 29-26 in overtime.

Iowa State remains undefeated as they won at West Virginia, 28-16.  They are currently ranked 9th.

5-1 Tennessee bounced back with a win over Florida, 23-17 in overtime.

Georgia defeated Mississippi State 41-31 as the #5 Bulldogs got up 34-10 and then cruised to victory.

#4 Penn State outlasted USC, 33-30 in overtime as their undefeated season continues.

Texas mollywhoped Oklahoma in the Red River Shootout, 34-3 and remains #1.

Lastly, Boise State is at 5-1 as Heisman Trophy favorite, Ashton Jeanty had 237 total yards and two total touchdowns.

Jeanty continues his marvelous Heisman-run and is sitting clearly in the driver’s seat to win the award this season.

His odds sit at +175 at the moment.

Dillon Gabriel at Oregon is next at +250.

After Gabriel is Cam Ward of Miami at +650.

These three are the clear top dogs for the award at the moment.

Things could change but at this point I expect these three to battle for the prize.

In other gambling news in the College Football landscape, I don’t do Lock or Underdog of the Week in College Football as I don’t normally bet a lot of College Football.

I will remind you all that Florida State plays at Duke this week and that they are currently 2-4 against the spread this season.

They are a 3.5 point underdog against the Duke Blue Devils AT Duke this weekend.

I will be betting on Duke to cover.

That’s all I have for this edition of ??Jason’s Jewels??.  I hope you have enjoyed!

Be on the lookout for my NFL Edition tomorrow.

Y’all be easy!!! ✌?
