Dayton will face its neighbor at Gilligan Stadium tomorrow night. Dayton has struggled to this point with a record of 1-5 and Bellevue seems to be playing better with three wins. Bellevue lost their last game to Ludlow and Dayton lost their last game to Marion County. I believe there’s a chance of this being a good game but believe Bellevue is likely the favorite at this point. I’m hoping Dayton wins and that they come motivated to play. This game has definitely become more of a rivalry with Coach Herbst being at Dayton and Coach Montgomery being at Bellevue and for purposes of the paddle.

What are more thoughts on this year’s battle for the paddle? This is also the start to their district play.

This will be the 151st game played between the two. Definitely a long going football game between them. This is always a fun game regardless of how either team is playing.

A few pictures posted from tonight’s bond fire:

8:10 in the first quarter, Bellevue 6 Dayton 0.

2:04 to go in the 1st quarter, Bellevue is leading Dayton 14-0. If Dayton doesn’t do something with this drive, it’s going to get out of reach pretty quickly.

Dayton just had it 3rd and 24 and the receiver dropped a beautiful pass that would have been a touchdown. After, Dayton punts and Bellevue returns a 61 yard return for a touchdown and the two point conversion was no good. Under 10 minutes left in the second quarter, Bellevue 20 Dayton 0.

1:58 left in the second quarter, Bellevue 28 Dayton 0.

Halftime now and same score. No idea what took so long to finish the second quarter.

23 seconds left in the third quarter, Bellevue 36 Dayton 0. The clock should be running the rest of the way.

The game finished as I left, don’t believe there was any more scores. The game is over.
