Kade Elam (Corbin, QB)
Season to date: 109/149 for 1,694 yards and 17 TDs with 2 INTs | 260 rushing yards and 9 TDs
Highlights: vs. JC

Second Team All-Watchlist
Zack McCoart (Johnson Central, RB)
Season to date: 140 carries for 1,479 yards and 18 TDs
Highlights: vs. Corbin

Styles make fights. It's a tried and true declaration any time combatants go mano a mano.
The fleet footed boxer/puncher versus the come forward brawler, both equally effective in their own way. One picks you apart from arm's length, while the other wants the fight in a phone booth, digging to the body and applying relentless pressure.
We could be talking about Ali/Frazier, but instead the allusion applies to the events in Paintsville between Johnson Central and Corbin. More specifically, between Kade Elam and Zack McCoart.
Elam, playing the role of sniper, peppered JC's defense with stinging right hands. He expertly worked every inch of the field and tucked and ran when the opportunity called.
The Golden Eagles were seemingly reduced to bystanders as he poured on 563 yards of total offense (421 passing/142 rushing) and eight touchdowns (6 passing/2 rushing). His place as an all-time Corbin great cemented, assuming it wasn't already.
McCoart countered with body blows until the opposition’s will had expired. His stubborn refusal to submit to first contact and arm tackles resulted in 415 yards and four scores, the yardage total good for #20 on the all-time single game list.

If he played almost anywhere else, that would be a school record. At Johnson Central, former stomping ground of rushing king JJ Jude, it's only good enough for fourth best.
They traded shots until the final bell, thrilling those in attendance until Elam's hand was raised after the Hounds claimed the winning side of the scoreboard.
Two players, nearly a thousand yards of offense, twelve touchdowns, and a night that won't soon be forgotten.

Antonio Harris (Male, ATH)
Harris is the state's undisputed big play, big game receiver so far this season. He posted season highs in receptions (5), yards (138), and touchdowns (3) against Frederick Douglass, with all three touchdown grabs coming in a span of about seven game minutes during the first half.
In three marquee games against Douglass, Trinity, and St. X, Harris has snagged 11 balls for 325 yards and 5 touchdowns. That's nearly 30 yards per catch and a score every other reception against the best competition in the state.
In Male's other three games, he's caught three passes for 39 yards. When he's needed, he turns it on.
Not bad for a player that's not even slated to play receiver at the next level, though he's giving the staff at UofL options to consider.
Season to date: 14 receptions for 364 yards and 6 TDs | 261 rushing yards and 4 TDs
Highlights: vs. Douglass

Honorable Mention
Cortez Stone (Central, RB)
Ran for 271 yards and three scores on just ten carries against E-Town. Stone has now eclipsed a thousand yards in all four seasons at Central.
Season to date: 92 carries for 1,088 yards and 16 TDs | 1 passing TD

Brady Atwell (Owensboro Catholic, QB)
Passing for 348 yards and six touchdowns sounds like a whale of a night, but Atwell packed it all into the first half against Todd County Central.
Season To Date: 106/163 for 1,720 yards and 25 TDs with 4 INTs | 303 rushing yards and 8 TDs

Clay Hayden (Beechwood, QB)
Threw five more touchdowns on six attempts against Walton-Verona, giving him ten touchdowns in his last eleven passes spanning the last two weeks.
Season to date: 91/139 for 1,483 yards with 25 TDs and 3 INTs

Austin Alexander (Cooper, DE/TE)
Caught a touchdown pass and registered two sacks in a blowout of Conner.
Season to date: 25 tackles | 6 sacks | 23 catches for 453 yards and 6 TDs

Luke Pennington (Sayre, QB)
Tossed six touchdown passes on 16 of 18 attempts against Bourbon County, giving him 73 scoring strikes since his last interception.
Season to date: 82/108 for 1,177 yards and 23 TDs with 0 INTs | 2 rushing TDs

Brock Coffman (Sayre, ATH)
Three of Pennington's touchdown passes found their way into Coffman's hands. He's now tied for the statewide lead in touchdown receptions.
Season to date: 41 receptions for 631 yards and 13 TDs | 1 KR TD | 20 tackles | 2 INTs including a pick-six
Highlights: vs. Bourbon County
