College Football Recap 

I’ll quickly go over some things in college football that has caught my attention.  

The Texas Longhorns look legit.  They rolled into Michigan and dismantled them 31-12.  

Maybe it is because they are in the SEC now, I don’t know, but these Longhorns look different.  

Stout defense.  Insane offense.  Great coaching.  

The SEC also still has Georgia as the number one team in the nation along with five other SEC teams in the top 10: Georgia, Texas, Alabama, Ole Miss, Missouri and Tennessee. 

Not only are they in the top 10 but they make up six of the top seven teams in the rankings.  

Pure insanity.  

Sadly enough, I think that basketball season has began in Lexington. 

I know. I know.  I was talking about all of that overreacting early in the season but I am speaking solely about UK fans and their relationship with UK football and ultimately Mark Stoops.  

You can feel it bubbling on the surface as it has been for the past couple of years. 

The key to keeping UK football fans dedicated and invested is to either win as much as possible early on or at the very least be competitive when losing. 

UK fans will not stick around long if they are losing 31-6 in games where they are favored by more than a touchdown. 

I’m not trying to be the bad guy when I say that.  I’m just being honest. 

Based on the past history of UK football fans,  I expect Mark Stoops to be begging for fan support by the time the Louisville rolls into Kroger Field.  

It’s unfortunate but it is also reality.  

The Wildcats host Georgia this weekend as things might get worse before they get better.  The Bulldogs opened as -23.5 point favorites and the line has moved up -24.5.  

The Wildcats will need a packed house that is rowdy and ready for a fight if they want to have any kind of chance of at all.  

We shall see what happens on Saturday. 

The Louisville Cardinals have been taking care of business and yes it is just Austin Peay and Jacksonville State but they did what they were supposed to do and destroyed them.  

Louisville and Miami look to be the best teams in what is now a very watered down ACC.  

That’s no disrespect to Louisville and Miami though.  Cam Ward is killing it for Miami and the Hurricanes look to be back as the best team in Florida.
