Sweet Revenge, Episode 1

Well it was a Gamble Goal Party at NKU last night.  The Birds were able to first get on the board with a hard shot to keeper that bounced out of his hands, was passed to Gamble who was able to punch in the first goal of the night.  A few minutes later NCC was called for an infraction against a Birds attacker in the box resulting in a PK, which who else Gamble buried in the back of the net.  
 

Halftime 2-0

Beginning of the 2nd half Gamble gets the hat trick placing a well shot ball around the keeper!  Birds rolling 3-0

NCC’s only goal of the game came minutes later when a NCC attacker and Birds defender were shoulder to shoulder going for ball in box, NCC goes down, ref felt like there was too much arm action against the attacker from Birds defender rewarding NCC with a PK which they converted, Birds 3 NCC 1 around 30 minutes left

5 minutes later the continued theme of the night…. Properly placed thru ball that Gamble receives and executes ONCE again for his 4th goal of the evening. Birds 4 NCC 1

Suli has pretty much intertwined the bench personnel the entire 2nd half with some starters to get valuable experience under everyone’s belt in a fun District game environment.

The last goal for the Birds happened with 15 minutes left with another great find of a pass to Freshman Hudson Hargis who slips one by the keeper for his 1st Varsity goal of his career. Birds 5 NCC 1

This was finally a complete domination the Birds needed to have especially with the 3 game gauntlet 9th Region test they have next week when they face off against Ryle (Tue), Cov Cath (Thu) and Conner (Sat). Huge to see the ball finally hit the back of the net instead of sailing wide or hitting the dang crossbars which we have seen way too often this season.

What a fun night!!!
