First, we have several members that have volunteered to start Prediction/Update threads for specific teams (most of the good ones) so if you are interested in starting a Prediction/Update thread for any game or team (and we haven't already discussed it) please send me a PM first (before posting the thread) so that we can stay as organized as possible. 

Also, Prediction/Update threads require polls, On polls, anytime you start a new topic there are two tabs at the top, left of the page.  The Content tab that the software defaults to and the Poll tab just to the right of it.  All you have to do is click on the Poll tab.  Then complete the Poll and then come back to the Content tab, write your thread up, and Submit Topic.  On your phone, right under Create New Topic, there is a drop down box that lets you toggle between Content and Poll.  You can take a look at this on your own by "pretending" to start a thread and just look at the tabs up there. Additionally, please set a closing time (game starting time) for your poll. This is a simple check box and time/date menu. Next, please choose Make voter names public? when you are setting up your poll.

Also, please format the Prediction/Update threads correctly:

Team A at Team B Predictions/Updates

If a game is not on a Friday it helps to add a date.  For example the first week of the season Friday is (8/21) so if a game is on Saturday it helps a lot to post the Prediction/Update thread as:  Team A vs. Team B Predictions/Updates (8/22). If a game is on a Friday you do not need to include the date, this is for Thursday and Saturday games only.

Please start your P/U thread as soon as possible and it is okay (and even encouraged) to start the P/U thread for the next week on Friday night after the games are over. With that said, the deadline for starting your weekly P/U thread is 6pm on Saturday. If a P/U thread is not started by 6pm on Saturday ANY MEMBER can start the P/U thread.

We have several P/U thread starters and there is some hesitancy among members thinking the other BGP member tasked with starting the P/U threads for your weekly opponent will start the thread. The home team P/U thread starter is primarily responsible for starting P/U threads. For example, when CovCath plays Highlands Colonels_Wears_Blue is the CCH P/U starter and FrankNicodemus is the Highlands P/U thread starter. The home team (either HHS or CCH) determines the primary P/U thread starter. With all that said (and this happens a lot) Colonels_Wears_Blue and FrankNicodemus should be working together behind the scenes in a combined effort where the two of them decide who is going to do what. And, after week one all you have to do is look at the P/U thread from last week(s) to determine which other member you are working with on P/U threads for any given team.

Please include any video or audio broadcast links for the P/U threads you create. And if you don't know when you are creating the thread, please keep checking back during the week and add what you can, when you can.

Everything we are asking helps keep the forum organized, easy to search, and consistent.  For example, if there is no poll added to a thread then we always get people asking for a poll to be added to the thread or why is there no poll with this thread, etc.  All that is extra work for us and it is inconsistent. 

Also, if you want to start a Prediction/Update thread please put a little bit of effort into it.  We don't expect anyone to do anything near what some of our members do with Prediction/Update threads - Purple88 - comes to mind, but at least try to add something of substance to the thread.
