Covington Holy Cross 4 Walton Verona 1

Holy Cross is doing some rebuilding after graduating all-time leading scorer Ivy Hoffman and the three Saalfeld cousins that anchored the middle.  Luckily, they have several talented freshmen who have been looking good in Bluegrass games and now Soccerama, who will help fill the void along with several returning upperclassmen.  Today's game started out fairly evening with a lot of back and forth in the first half, with the half ending at 0-0.  In the second half, the Indians scored first on a free kick by Ella Lehmkuhl from about 20 yards out.  The Indians followed with three more unanswered goals.  Senior Campbell Christy scored the loan Walton goal with about 2 minutes left in the game.  The first regular season game for the Indians is Monday in a district-seeding game against Holmes.

Holy Cross goals: Lehmkuhl, Tetzel, Mc Donald, Donnellon

Walton Verona goals: Christy
