It was a pitchers duel in the sun at UK's John Cropp Stadium, between Boyd's Elyn Simpson and Mercy's Maya Merrill.

• Bottom 5th: The Jaguars' Peyton Arnold doubled home Madison Thornberry.

•• Top 7th: The Lady Lions' Jaycie Goad knocked a two run homer, scoring Savanna Henderson.

••• Mercy had the bases loaded but couldn't score in the game's final frame.

• Winner Elyn Simpkins pitched a three hitter with six Ks.
