15th Region Week 13 Rankings and Review

Week 13:
Here’s a breakdown of each district tournament along with a final ranking for the regular season. Good luck and injury free ball to each team!

57th:
The 57th district tournament will be held at Martin County. The two semifinal games are on Tuesday at 6:30 and 8:30 and the district championship is on Thursday at 6:30. Martin Co and Paintsville will be the 1-4 matchup. Martin Co beat the tigers by 12 and by 15 in the two games they played this year. Magoffin and Johnson Central are the 2-3 matchup in the second game. Magoffin beat JC by 40 in their first game and by just 8 in the second game. It will be interesting to see if the matchup ends up closer the third game or reverts back to the first game. Martin Co has gone 6-0 against the district in the regular season. 

58th:
The 58th district tournament will be held at Prestonsburg. The first two games will be Tuesday night. Lawrence County and Prestonsburg will be the first game at 6. Lawrence beat Prestonsburg by 7 and by 17 in their two matchups this season. The second game will be right after the first and this will be between Floyd Central and Betsy Lane. Floyd Central won both games this season by 4 at home and by 9 on the road. The district championship will be Thursday night at 7. If chalk wins out, we’ll have Lawrence Co playing Floyd Central. Lawrence won both games this year against Floyd Central by 5 and by 12. 

59th:
The 59th district tournament will be held at Pikeville. This is a three team district. The first game is tonight at 8 as Shelby Valley and East Ridge play in the 2-3 matchup. Shelby Valley won both games against East Ridge so far by 6 and by 5. The winner will play Pikeville in the district final Tuesday night at 8. Pikeville blew out both teams in the four games they played this year. I believe Pikeville will run through the 59th. 

60th:
The 60th district tournament will be held at Pike County Central. This is a three team district. The 2-3 matchup takes place tonight at 7 with Phelps and Belfry. Phelps beat Belfry on the road by 5 in OT and beat them by 7 at home in the two games they played earlier in the year. The winner gets Pike County Central in the championship on Thursday at 7. Pike County central went 4-0 against the two teams earlier in the season with no game closer than 21 points. Barring a huge upset PCC should run away with this district tournament.
