NKY Girls Basketball Top 10 (1/22/24)

We have reached the point in the season where there is one month left to play before Districts, and this last 30 days or so will be a sprint to the finish.  I did a deep dive into the teams last night, and one really interesting thing at this point is the wide range of schedules that people play.  We have teams that play very few of our Top NKY teams, we have others that play a lot of our Top NKY teams, and then we have a group that plays the Top NKY teams and then very strong teams from Ohio or down in KY.  Obviously every team shouldn't be running a gauntlet of huge opponents, but it does make some of the records ring a little more hollow as compared to their peers.  In fact, to underscore that, below you'll see our Top 10 this week, and then in parentheses for this week, how they have fared this year vs our Current Top 10, I found it pretty interesting.  Now, to be sure, not all of our Top 10 teams are created equal, but it does give a bit of a litmus test of where everyone is vs our best competition.  Good luck to Cooper and Simon Kenton this week down in the LIT, and good luck to Holy Cross playing in the All A Classic down at Corbin.  Safe travels to all of our teams and their families and fans.

2.  Holy Cross 15-5 (4-1 vs our Top 10):  at the All A Classic in Corbin this week

3.  Notre Dame 14-4 (5-1 vs our Top 10):  vs Holmes and vs Henry Clay

4.  Ryle 11-7 (3-1 vs our Top 10):  vs Highlands at NKU

5.  Highlands 12-5 (2-3 vs our Top 10):  vs Campbell County, vs Newport, and vs Ryle at NKU

6.  Simon Kenton 14-5 (3-3 vs our Top 10):  at the LIT in Louisville this week (likely Sacred Heart)

7.  Dixie 10-8 (2-6 vs our Top 10):  vs Lloyd

8.  Conner 9-10 (2-5 vs our Top 10):  at Bishop Brossart and at St. Henry

9.  Grant County 11-5 (2-3 vs our Top 10):  vs Ludlow and vs Spencer County

10. NewCath 12-6 (1-5 vs our Top 10):  vs Newport and vs Bishop Brossart
