Final from the Owensboro Sportscenter. The Panthers (13-4) edge the Colts (15-6) to advance to tomorrow's championship game against Lexington Catholic.

Being a Colts fan, I was disappointed with the result, but I have to give credit to the Fleming County players. They are a talented and scrappy bunch. They pass really well and create a lot of open shots with their fast-paced motion on offense.

The Colts seemed off-key to me.  Their leading scorer Damone King seemed at times to be off his usual outstanding self, missing shots he almost always makes. Also, the Colts were hampered when one of their other big scorers, Logan Tharp, got in early foul trouble due to a couple of questionable calls.  Will Gibson still has not returned to Junior year form.

But all that said, Fleming County was very deserving of the win. They played with great intensity & energy from the get-go.  I'm sure their fans are hoping they saved some of that energy, confidence & enthusiasm for the Championship game against a great Lexington Catholic team.  That should be a good one!
