Here is your 13th Region rankings and reviews from Week 6. 

1. Harlan County (15-2).
Another week goes by, another perfect week. This time against region foes Corbin and North Laurel. The Black Bears beat Corbin by 6 and NL by 7. Trent Noah had 31 and 30 in each game. The Black Bears continue to show it’s going to take a near perfect game to knock them off. This week they start district play against the undefeated Bell County Bobcats Tuesday and play another district game against Middlesboro Friday before taking on Woodford Saturday. 

2. Bell County  (16-0)
One of the few undefeated teams in the state, Bell County keeps rolling along. This time with two overtime wins this week over Knox Central and Daniel Boone TN, then a 2 point win over Whitley County in the final of the 2A sectional. Bell takes on Harlan County at home and can really put the region and the state on notice if they can win this one. That’s their only game this week. 

3. Corbin (7-4).
Corbin had one of the more impressive weeks in the 13th region with a commanding 21 point win over Danville Christian and a 4 point win over Ashland Blazer. They played Harlan County close as well before eventually losing by 6. Corbin has a big game Tuesday as they look to take the district back from South Laurel, then they take on Jackson County at home Friday, and Madison Southern on Saturday at South Laurel. 

4. South Laurel (10-3).
South started off the week with a 15 point win over Harlan before taking one on the chin against Boyle County by a score of 27-54. Jordan Mabe left the game in the second quarter and the Cardinals could never really rebound. I’m not sure on his status, but for his sake and for the teams sake they need him as the Redhounds come to town Tuesday which will tell more of the 3rd and 4th place rankings. South wraps up the week against Evangel Christian at home. 

5. Whitley County (13-2)
Whitley started the week off with an 11 point win over McCreary in the 2A before falling on a last second shot to Bell Co in the 2A. Whitley looks to rebound Friday as they make the short trip to Williamsburg to open up district. Whitley is another team that has won a lot of games but the schedule hasn’t been great so far. They will eventually have the chance to make a statement. 

6. North Laurel (5-10)
It was bound to happen and I’m going to make it happen this week with NL shooting up the rankings. Don’t be fooled by the 10 losses. Some of these losses include some of the states top 25 teams. North Laurel beat Clay County at home this week to show the 49th still runs through them. They also played Harlan County tough before eventually falling by 7. I don’t know if I believe NL can win the region, but I do think they can play spoiler when they’re hot. The Jags will play Madison Central at home Tuesday as their only game of the week. 

7. Clay County (8-7)
Clay had a chance to make a statement this week and couldn’t pull it off against the Jags. After dropping that game by 4, then lost to DCA by 7. I’m not ready to write off Clay yet, but I do think there are some internal issues they have to take care of. If they take care of that and get hot, then I think they can make some noise. This week they play Saturday in the Raymond Reed Classic against Sevier County. 

8. Knox Central (12-4).
I love seeing the Panthers continue to do well. They were 2 points in OT from taking down undefeated Bell County in the 2A sectional. They finished the week strong though with wins over Red Bird and McCreary Central. Chadwell didn’t play against McCreary and it was good to see some other players step up in his void. The Panthers play Tuesday at Perry County, then take on Cordia Friday. 

9. Pineville (10-4).
Pineville went 2-0 on the week with wins over Thomas Walker and a 2 point win over Jackson Co in the All A. Pineville returns to action in the All A Monday against Harlan, and if they win that they play Tuesday. 

10. Jackson County (6-7)
Jackson lost a heartbreaker to Pineville 58-60 in the All A Classic. They were led by a balanced scoring attack which saw Keagan Ward score 16, Peyton Singleton score 15, Carter Cunagin score 12, and Corey Cunagin score 10. The Generals are back in action Friday as they travel to Corbin.

Harlan beats Pineville in the first round of the All A 72-68 in OT.
